Performing Arts

At St Albans East Primary School, our students engage in Performing Arts with excitement—creating, exploring, performing and responding through music, dance and drama in ways that build confidence, creativity and self-expression. Aligned with the Victorian Curriculum 2.0, students develop their skills in exploring, developing and presenting ideas while learning to sing, move, act, improvise and perform in a range of styles and contexts.

Students grow as confident performers and thoughtful audiences, learning to reflect on and respond to performances from different cultures, times and traditions. Through collaborative, hands-on learning experiences, they build communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills while expressing ideas, emotions and stories through the arts.

Our Performing Arts room supports this learning as a vibrant, creative space where ideas come to life. It is well equipped with a range of musical instruments including percussion, keyboards and classroom instruments, as well as costumes, props and performance resources that help students develop, rehearse and present their work.

Across all Performing Arts experiences, students are encouraged to create, perform and share their ideas in supportive and engaging learning environments where creativity can grow. Through music, dance and drama, they build confidence, resilience and an appreciation of different perspectives while developing as creative, curious and connected learners.
