School Council

The School Council is the governing body of the school. It is made up of both parents and teachers. School Council has a wide range of roles and responsibilities that includes: 

  • determining the general educational policy of the school
  • developing the school strategic plan
  • reporting annually to the school community
  • approving and monitoring the school budget
  • developing the student code of conduct and
  • generally stimulating interest in the school

 

School council is the body that sets the vision, determines priorities, and ensures that the school is responsive to the needs of the local community. The principal is the Executive Officer of council and a parent is the President. School Council meets at least 8 times a year, usually on a Tuesday evening at 7:00pm. There are working committees within School Council which are made up of both parents and teaching staff.
