First Steps Pre Prep Program

Starting PREP in the New Year?

Our Pre-Prep program offers a warm and supportive introduction to school life, designed to help your child feel confident, connected and ready for their first year of Prep.

Running across two terms, this program builds your child’s social and emotional awareness while establishing positive school routines. Children will become familiar with their new environment, form friendships, and develop a sense of belonging within our school community.

Our teachers take the time to get to know each child as an individual, ensuring a smooth and successful transition into Prep.

Throughout the program, children will engage in a range of purposeful and play-based learning experiences that support:

  • Social and Emotional Development – recognising and managing emotions, building friendships, and developing confidence
  • Early Literacy Skills – name recognition, exploring letters and sounds
  • Early Numeracy Skills – counting, recognising and writing numbers
  • Fine Motor Development – strengthening skills such as cutting, drawing and pencil grip
  • Problem Solving – engaging in puzzles, simple maths activities, collaborative play, and cooperation

Children will also gain confidence navigating the school environment, helping them feel comfortable and ready for their first day of Prep in 2027.

Transition sessions for pre-prep students with confirmed enrolment acceptance, will commence Week 3 of Term 3, with further details provided to families at time of enrolment and closer to the start date.
